Last updated: May 19, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By adding Auralyn (“the Bot”) to your Discord server or using any of its features, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“ToS”). If you do not agree, do not add or use the Bot.
2. Description of Service
Auralyn is a Discord music bot that provides high-fidelity audio playback through the Discord voice API. It operates as a single Docker container with an embedded Lavalink audio server. The Bot offers the following core functionality:
- Music playback from supported sources (YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Twitch, HTTP streams)
- Queue management and playback controls
- Audio filter presets (equalizer-based)
- Lyrics retrieval
- Session settings (24/7 mode, autoplay, DJ roles, vote-skip)
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Auralyn. By using the Bot, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are using the Bot on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.
4. Acceptable Use
4.1 You May
- Add Auralyn to Discord servers you administer
- Use all provided commands and features as intended
- Self-host the Bot using the provided Docker image (MIT licensed)
4.2 You May Not
- Use the Bot to violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the Bot's compiled code beyond the terms of the MIT license
- Use the Bot for illegal purposes or to infringe on others' copyright
- Automate or script interactions with the Bot in a way that abuses Discord's API rate limits
- Use the Bot to stream copyrighted content without proper authorization
5. Availability and Reliability
- The Bot is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied
- We do not guarantee 100% uptime. Voice sessions may be interrupted due to Discord API issues, server maintenance, or unexpected errors
- Audio sources (YouTube, Spotify, etc.) may change their APIs or policies, which could affect playback functionality
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without notice
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Auralyn and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to: loss of data or service interruptions; damages resulting from use or inability to use the Bot; issues arising from third-party audio source changes.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Bot operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Bot or violation of these terms.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to block or restrict access to the Bot for any server or user that violates these terms. You may stop using the Bot at any time by removing it from your server. Settings associated with your guild will be deleted upon the Bot's removal.
9. Open Source and Licensing
Auralyn is open-source software released under the MIT License. The source code is available at the official GitHub repository. Self-hosting and modification are permitted under the terms of the MIT License.
10. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in the jurisdiction of the Bot operator. Any disputes shall be resolved through informal negotiation before seeking legal remedy.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
